Athula Daulagala is a police officer with 37 years of extensive experience in the fields of counter terrorism, explosive ordinance disposal, VIP protective security operations and security transportation of radioactive materials. He holds MSc in Explosive Engineering from the Royal Military Science College of UK.
At present he holds the rank of Senior Superintendent of Police and works as the Deputy Commandant (Administration) of the Special Task Force of the Sri Lanka Police. He contributes his service to IAEA on transport security training development. Working with INTERPOL as an Advisor of the CBRN&E training development and post scene investigation.
Chief coordinator of the Transport Security Team with the Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Regulatory Council and Atomic Energy Board. He prudently introduced the concept of Armed Escorts, developer of the Transport security sector using modern Drone Technology.
He was the former Director Training of the Special Task Force Academy, where thousands of young men and women are transformed into formidable commandos of the Sri Lanka Police.
He has served as the Personal Security Officer to His Excellency the President of Sri Lanka and as the Personal Security Officer for foreign Heads of State who visited Sri Lanka, including His Holiness the Pope.
