Rodger’s role is responsible for assessment of security plans and the provision of specialist security advice and recommendations to ARPANSA management that strengthen the protective security arrangements for radioactive materials in storage and transport for ARPANSA’s licence holders.
Rodger also manages the safety and security inspection and assessment process for a number of high level ARPANSA licence holders as well as the coordination of the Australian National Radiation Security Advisor Accreditation Scheme (NRSAAS).
Rodger came to ARPANSA in 2015 after a 30 year career in the aviation, maritime and government security sectors where he was involved in a number of operational safety, security and capability building positions as well as risk, threat and crisis management roles.
Rodger’s previous experiences includes the design and delivery of security education strategies that focus on risk and human factors in security systems, and the delivery of international aviation and maritime capability programs including the delivery of industry specific dangerous goods training.
Rodger’s qualifications include: Bachelor of Aviation Studies-Human Factors from Western Sydney University, Certificate in Accident and Incident Response and Preparedness from the University of Southern California, a Graduate Certificate in Risk Management from Monash University and a Master of Justice Studies majoring in Strategic Intelligence from the Queensland University of Technology.
