Brigadier General Liviu UZLĂU, First Deputy of the Inspector General and Chief of Staff of the Romanian Gendarmerie, with 24 years of professional experience in the Defense, Public Order and National Security System, having served during his military career as Head of the Protection and Intervention Group within the Special Protection and Intervention Group ACVILA, with duties related to organizing, coordinating and executing protection missions for high rank officials, AT/CT intervention, representation and international relations, Commander of the Antiterrorist Special Battalion within the Special Intervention Brigade of the Romanian Gendarmerie, with the task of leading and coordinating AT/CT, preventing and combating organized crime, Head of the Public Order and Security Department within the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Gendarmerie, responsible for leading and coordinating public order units, during their specific missions.
Between 2007-2009 and 2011-2014, he represented his units in the ATLAS Network (European organisation of counter-terrorist intervention units).
During 2015-2016, while the Romanian Gendarmerie held the presidency of the FIEP, he was appointed president of the Working Committees of this Association and president of the International Evaluation Commission of the Brazilian Military Police in view of joining the FIEP.
During his military career, he was in charge with security measures for some major public events, such as Pope Francis` visit to Romania in May-June 2019, the informal Summit of Heads of State or Government of the European Union in May 2019, Untold and Neversea music festivals in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
Within the general effort to limit the spread of the new SARS-COV 2 coronavirus, in 2020, he coordinated the quarantine measures for Suceava county.
