MEDNET Regional Transport Security Symposium

Transportation security continues to remain a vital aspect of the security of nuclear and radioactive materials worldwide. As such, the MedNet Transport Security Symposium, jointly organized by the US Department of Energy’s Office of Radiological Security and the Greek Atomic Energy Commission (EEAE) seeks to increase the knowledge and understanding of the specific threats and risks associated with the transport of nuclear and other radioactive materials. The Symposium is intended to promote regional harmonization throughout the MEDNET region regarding the need to secure radioactive and nuclear material in transit. The event will feature panel discussions and breakout sessions to discuss emerging threats, critical weaknesses in current transport practices, successful transport security practices, and other national and/or regional issues that impact the security of radioactive and nuclear materials during transport.

Because this is a hybrid event, there are opportunities for in-person attendance as well as virtual participation.
