Mr. Stewart works within the Division of Nuclear Fuel Cycle and Waste Technology (NEFW) at the International Atomic Energy Agency and is responsible for supporting IAEA member States in the management of disused sealed radioactive sources (DSRS). Mr. Stewart has over 14 years of experience in the management of DSRS including the identification, recovery, conditioning, transport, and disposal of radioactive sources. Prior to his role at the IAEA, Mr. Stewart was a Management and Operational Contractor supporting the NNSA’s Office of Radiological Security In Washington, DC.
From 2008 until 2014 Mr. Stewart supported the Off-Site Source Recovery Program at Los Alamos National Laboratory which has an NNSA sponsored mission to remove excess, unwanted, or disused radioactive sealed sources that pose a potential risk to national security, health, and safety. Mr. Stewart joined Los Alamos National Laboratory in 2006 where he worked on environmental remediation and restoration projects, within and surrounding, LANL.
