Information
Security of radioactive material in transit requires special attention since the material is particularly vulnerable when outside of well-protected facilities and transported by public. This four-day course offers tabletop exercise experience to State officials of partner countries. Participants interact with each other and gain firsthand tabletop experience. The course provides participants with:
- A method to evaluate inter-agency planning and response
- Operator, regulator, and response personnel coordination for material transport security policies and procedures
- Methods to improve communication and coordination for future operations
- Validation of transportation security plans, subsequent security upgrades, and system effectiveness
Participants will discuss and consider the need for transport security, insider threat mitigation, transport security technologies, and response strategies through a battleboard tabletop exercise.
