South Africa/GMS Transport Security Workshop


The US National Nuclear Security Administration's Offices of Nuclear Security and Radiological Security, in conjunction with the Government of South Africa, is hosting a four-day engagement on the topic of transport security of Class 7 materials. This workshop is intended to cover a variety of topics through presentations, facilitated discussions, and exercises on transport security planning and response. Specific topics include current security and threat challenges to transport security, transport risk management, roles and responsibilities, insider threat mitigation, cyber security, and operational application of good practices. In addition to the experts from the US DOE’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory, representatives from Nuclear Transport Solutions (NTS) from the United Kingdom will also be participating.
