Michael Schultze is a transportation security expert working with the U.S. DOE/NNSA Office of Radiological Security (ORS) program to advance transportation security in Asia/Southeast Asia. He has been with Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) since 2003. Since 2010, he has organized and taught transport security training workshops related to the safe and secure transport of radioactive material for ORS. He is also the program lead for the development of the Transportation Security Tracking and Reporting system (T-STAR), helping countries with the implementation of security technologies to provide an enhanced level of security during the transport and storage of radioactive material. Prior to his role with ORS, he worked on projects related to screening air cargo for explosives and development of cargo tracking systems. He holds a Master’s degree in Geography from the University of Tennessee.
